Sidney Hall (2017)


The original film "Sidney Hall" was retitled "The Vanishing of Sidney Hall" before its wide distribution. The story's an American mystery drama directed and co-written by Academy Award winner Shawn Christensen, featuring actors Logan Lerman, Elle Fanning, Michelle Monaghan, Nathan Lane, and Kyle Chandler.  Filming began principal photography in April 2016, and the movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2017.  "The Vanishing of Sidney Hall" was first publicly released on January 25, 2018, through DirecTV Cinema, followed by a limited theatrical release on March 2, 2018, by A24. It's available on DVD and Blu-ray and distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment. AC shares the role of Judge Newport with actor Sean Cullen in the film.


Petty and Famous (2024)

Production of "Petty and Famous" was interrupted during the Covid-19 pandemic but resumed in early 2023. The film's currently in post, and a release date has not been announced. It's expected to premiere at the SXSW festival in Austin, TX, in 2025. Written by Jamie Ferron and directed by Academy Award winner Shawn Christensen, the film follows the story of a talented but petty guitar player called "The Legend." Despite being widely despised in the music industry, The Legend embarks on a massive world tour to promote his latest album, but things don't go as planned. Throughout the tour, he faces numerous challenges, including conflicts with his bandmates, one of whom has a drug problem and must have another musician secretly play his stage performances for him from backstage. Despite his abrasive personality, The Legend always manages to win over the hearts of his fans with his electrifying performances and infectious music. During the tour, he develops a close relationship with his past when he meets a young guitarist named Tommy, who is covering for the bandmate with the problem. Ultimately, The Legend is forced to confront his demons when he learns Tommy is his brother, and he must choose between his music and his family while learning the true meaning of success. "Petty and Famous" is a gripping and powerful tribute to the transformative power of music and the enduring legacies of some of rock and roll's most polarizing figures. The film features electrifying performances by some of rock's greatest artists.  AC Patterson plays the part of The Legend's grandfather in the film.
